Mrs. Vaz-Heaven brings 30 years of experience in human resource management and development, offering proven strategic leadership across all HR functions. Throughout her career, she has driven effective people management and optimized service quality by designing and refining organizational policies and procedures. Notably, her background includes serving as the inaugural HR Manager at the Norman Manley Law School for nearly seven years.

She has a Master of Science Degree in HR Development and a Bachelor of Science Degree in HR Management.  She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources-International (SPHRi), which “demonstrates mastery of generally accepted HR principles in strategy, policy development and service delivery, independent of geographic region.”  SPHRi is globally recognized and is accredited by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies and the International Accreditation Service Inc. respectively and is ISO certified (ISO/IEC 17024) by the International Organization for Standardization. 

In addition to her HR qualifications, she was Called to the Bar of England and Wales in July 2024 and subsequently completed a Master of Laws with specialisms in Employment Law and Family Law at The City Law School in England. She was also Called to the Bar in Jamaica in July 2026 and established her private law practice under the name Trinity Plus Law Firm.

She is a thought leader, who is innovative in unlocking the potential of others and inspiring them to unleash their own creativity, in order to generate new and better ways of accomplishing goals.  She is also an adaptive leader, who anticipates changes in the internal and external environment and implements strategies to address them and can also work through difficult situations to transform culture, mindsets, practices and other barriers to realising the vision of an organisation.
