Commissioned as a Justice of the Peace

On Sunday, February 22, 2026, Mrs. Alia Vaz-Heaven was commissioned as a Justice of the Peace in the parish of Saint Andrew to voluntarily serve the citizens across the island of Jamaica.

Mrs. Vaz-Heaven was among the record number of 148 JPs commissioned for Saint Andrew, who took the solemn oath to uphold the dignity and integrity of the noble office, to strengthen the justice system by promoting peace, and to serve with an unwavering commitment to equity.

Mrs. Vaz-Heaven accepts her Justice of the Peace Seal and Writ from the Commissioner of Police, Dr. Kevin Blake, and the Custos Rotulorum for the Parish of St. Andrew, The Honourable Ian Forbes, CD, JP.
